Vehicle Sales Lot Manager – Live Oak

SUMMARY

The Vehicle Sales Lot Manager is responsible for all aspects of receiving, pricing, and disposing
of donated titled assets and is responsible for ensuring all Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises fleet
vehicles and trailers assigned to Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises operations, are properly titled,
registered, and insured as appropriate. This position is also responsible for all aspects related
to selecting and selling merchandise via the internet. The Vehicle Sales Lot Manager may also be
assigned specific administrative duties as needed. This position supervises and coordinates the
activities of the Vehicle Sales Lot Attendant.
The Vehicle Sales Lot Manager is directly responsible to the Vice President SRE.

This position is eligible for overtime pay.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The following duties and responsibilities are given as examples of the various types of work
performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  1. Prepares all reports, forms, and surveys that relate to the position and ensures that the auto dealer’s license is kept current
  2. Sends out and obtains accurate information and paperwork concerning the gift of all titled assets and arranges convenient pickup schedules. The schedule will be coordinated with the Vice President SRE.
  3. Ensures all documents related to the sale of vehicles, boats, and trailers are properly completed and transferred to the name of the new owner. This includes maintaining “sold” files on such items.
  4. This position will be the main contact for all vehicle sales lot customers. This includes but is not limited to: Assisting with answering questions, test driving, dealing with prices, completion of paperwork, etc.
  5. Assists with the planning, organization, and execution of all aspects of the vehicle sales lot, sealed bids and other means of disposing of surplus items.
  6. Ensures all proceeds from sale of surplus items at the vehicle sales lot are properly deposited and accounted for in a timely manner.
  7. Assists in phone coverage and clerical support for the Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises Administrative Office.
  8. Is responsible for all aspects of selling items on the Internet that includes the following duties:
    • A. Selects donated non-cash items for consideration in placing on internet auctions and maintains the physical security of all items in designated areas.
    • B. Coordinates the digital imaging, writing of descriptions and placement of items on internet auction including answering all questions that arise while items are for sale.
    • C. After payment has been confirmed, coordinates the proper packaging, addressing, and shipping of sold items in a timely manner.
  9. Represents the Youth Ranches and Sheriffs Ranches Enterprises in a positive manner to donors, customers, and the public and provides exceptional customer service.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The person filling this position must have a high school diploma or GED. Must have possessed a valid driver’s license for three years or more. A working knowledge of vehicles and titles is preferred.

Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
  2. Must have the ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference, volume; capability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  3. Must have the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  4. Must have analytical, math, and grammar skills sufficient to meet minimum standards of the Youth Ranches Skills Test.
  5. Must have excellent sales and customer service skills and the personality to work with the public.
  6. Must have a working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping functions.
  7. Must have the ability to set priorities and follow through to completion.
  8. Must have a working knowledge of personal computers and related software.
  9. Must have the ability to meet deadlines.
  10. Must have the ability to refrain from divulging confidential information to unauthorized persons.
  11. Must have a valid Florida Driver License and be able to maintain a safe driving record consistent with agency policy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly standing, walking, sitting, listening, talking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching with hands and arms. There are extensive periods of time when the employee would be using their hands and fingers.


The employee would be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, regularly lift up to 25 pounds and extensively lift up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Some of the work assignments are generally performed in an office environment; however, some work will also be performed outdoors in a wet, humid, hot or cold environment when helping customers. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and the noise level of the work environment is usually moderate in nature.

BASE SALARY               $16.50 hourly
