As a non-profit organization that is primarily donor-funded, the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches (FSYR) is dedicated to being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us to care for children in need. Our credibility rests on a foundation of honesty, accountability, integrity, and high quality service to the children and families of Florida.

Every year, the FSYR publishes an Annual Report outlining the milestones, financial audit information and population numbers from the previous fiscal year. This year, the FSYR has once again earned the highest audit rating, known as an “unqualified opinion,” from the external audit firm of Batts, Morrison, Wales and Lee Certified Public Accountants. We are in a strong financial position with no debt. The FSYR is very conservative in the allocation of expenses. No portion of our direct mail appeals, donor correspondence or publications are considered “educational or program related” expense. Furthermore, we do not hire professional fund-raising companies; nor do we conduct any telephone solicitations.

The FSYR was the first in the state to be issued a Charitable Gift Annuity permit in 1974 and we maintain reserves in this fund equal to or exceeding the state standards.
